Experiments with camera

Well posting after a long time. This scene is the same one posted before just tweaked the camera a bit, the other settings remained same took more than an hour to render (the original one was rendered in about 5minutes).

Dinner Table

Dinner
This scene uses the mental ray renderer. Apart from setting up the lights and the camera angel the modeling of the chair was the hardest part( which is not hard at all if u loft each part and then put them together using boolean). The cloth was draped on the table using Reactor.

The Room

The Table
This is not an original creation, it is inspired by an image I saw sometimes back. This is my first image using MentalRay renderer.

Lamp

Lantern
This image was created for 3D total's speed modeling contest, and was done in under an hour.
The model is created in parts and most of the part have been created using lathe due to their rotational symmetry while some parts were lofted. In the end I added some noise to some parts to give a look of an old lamp.

The bench

Bench
This scene was created to depict the lonely atmosphere found in some poor locality.
The scene consist of the model of bench created by lofting a circle over a line to complete the frame, boxes with appropriate texture made the wooden planks. This model has lot of details even the nuts used to fasten the planks were modeled.
The back wall was created to make the light bounce off it and illuminate the scene as I used only 2 omni lights for the scene. A light was placed inside the lamppost and the other was kept on the other side of the scene.
The posters are planes with some of the vertices moved, the poster and coke can was thrown away carelessly to emphasize the mood.

Cave

Cave
This is one of the simplest scenes I have ever created. Modeling took no time at all, all this scene contains is a tube with noise applied on it and a box with a displace map to create water. Most of the work consist of materials and lighting.
The material for cave walls is composed of two materials (grass and dirt) blended together with a very random mix map while the box has a raytraced water material on it. A strong light is placed at the far end of the cave with some fog applied to give some volume to the incomming light.

The Room

The Room
This image of the room was created while I was doing my course on construction materials and I decided to model the first image which came to my mind on thinking about construction sites. This scene consist of two parts :

  • The actual room model.
  • The sky and the bird added in photoshop.

The room was modeled by using boxes for walls and column, the arch was lofted and the plate is a plane deformed by manual movement of vertices.

The material used for the wall is actualy a blended material consisting of a brick material and a plaster material, this material was blended with a red material with appropriate mix map to give the impression of a streak of paint.

The scene has a spotlight outside the room with some fog to give the volume light effect.
